contacts that he may have made in the course of his imprisonment,

start a new life and become engaged in some useful occupation in

a school or in one of the many firms owned by your Petitioner and

his family and so play his part as a useful and productive

citizen in accordance with his upbringing and the hopes and

expectations of his worthy family.

14. On the 17th day of November 1947 your Petitioner addressed

a Petition for the immediate release of his said son to His

Excellency the Governor of Hong Kong who found himself unprepared

to accede to your Petitioner's request.

Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that you may be

pleased on the full consideration of the case to reduce the term

of imprisonment imposed upɔn your Petitioner's son the said Chong

Tong Xie and ao, place him once mor under the care and guidance

of his family the corporal punishment and terms of imprisonment

having now had its full effect.

And your Petitioner will ever pray.
